Jay Chapman - President
Mr. Chapman founded Capstone Building Corp. in 1997 and currently serves as its President. With over 32 years experience in the construction industry and throughout his career, he has been involved in all aspects of construction. His experience and personal "hands-on" style of management brings tremendous value to clients. He holds the general contractor state licenses for Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Washington.
Mr. Chapman currently serves as a member of the Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. of Alabama, the United States Green Building Council, the Association of College and University Housing Officers International (ACUHOI) and the Birmingham Rotary Club.
Danny Stevens - Executive Vice President Field Operations
Danny oversees planning, organizing, staffing and controlling operations on each project site. He monitors performance of each project team throughout a project’s life cycle and is the final authority on corrective measures when offplan performance is identified or encountered.
Danny has over 36 years of experience in managing complex commercial, industrial, institutional and residential construction projects. He has an exceptional ability to lead and manage a diverse workforce, both internal and subcontracted, in challenging environments.
Danny and Jay Chapman have successfully completed construction projects together since 1985.
Charlie Vick - Executive Vice President
Charlie has been in construction estimating for over 20 years and has extensive experience in commercial and multifamily residential construction. He joined Capstone Building Corp. in 1998 as the Chief of Estimating and Preconstruction Services. Through his staff of qualified estimator’s and the company’s project managers, Charlie ensures that customers receive the highest value at the lowest cost possible through accurate estimating and detailed value engineering alternatives.
Charlie graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Building Construction from Auburn University and has remained active in the school’s Building Science program.
Jimmy Shaw - Senior Vice President Operations
Jimmy joined Capstone Building in 1999. He has 18 years of construction experience which includes commercial and multifamily residential projects. At Capstone he serves as one of two senior executives overseeing the administration and operation of projects under construction.
Jimmy is an Auburn University graduate of the Building Science program and participates in many industry organizations.
Chris Travis - Senior Vice President - Finance
Chris joined Capstone Building Corp. in 2002 as Chief Financial Officer. Chris brought his years of experience in the accounting and insurance industry to Capstone Building Corp. and is responsible for corporate human resource management, accounting and contract administration.
Chris received his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
